I am a 20-year-old university student studying French and Spanish in the UK. Every third-year language student has to go abroad to work on their language of choice so, typically, I chose the Spanish-speaking country furthest away from home – Chile.
Over the next 10 months I am going to be a English language teaching assistant at the Instituto Chileno Britanico de Cultura (ICBC) in Santiago. And, like all predictable and mainstream uni-students on their year abroad, I am going to blog about it.
I hope you enjoy. I’ll probably be lost (both in translation and in reality) for most of the year, and I can imagine that’ll be pretty entertaining to read about.
